RUBY LEO WORKSPACES MUNICH
… transforms an existing office building formerly occupied by Bayerischer Rundfunk into a contemporary and flexible workspace for Ruby Leo in central Munich. As an adaptive reuse project, it responds directly to the growing vacancy of outdated office buildings and questions the assumption that empty offices necessarily indicate a declining demand for workspace. Instead, the project demonstrates how obsolete layouts and rigid spatial structures can be reworked to accommodate contemporary ways of working. A lively Join Area is combined with dedicated desks, private offices, meeting rooms and quieter zones for focused work, creating a range of settings for different needs. The result gives an existing building a new purpose while showing how the continued transformation of existing office stock can provide a viable alternative to demolition and new construction.
