METHODEN DER RAUMPRODUKTION
… investigates how space is produced, perceived and transformed rather than treating it as a fixed physical object. Through a sequence of experimental exercises, different methods are used to explore spatial effects, qualities and forms of perception. Particular attention is given to the deliberate manipulation of ceiling heights, spatial depths and the direction and intensity of light in order to create distinctly different spaces and atmospheres. Changes in proportion, enclosure, sequence and illumination alter how a space is experienced, making perception itself part of the design process. The work connects theoretical positions on space with practical experiments and develops a methodological repertoire for creating and evaluating spatial concepts.
